5 Fall Home Maintenance To-Dos

Winter is coming! Have you done any Fall home prep to get your home yet?

In Southern New England, we approximately receive 35 inches of snow per year. When that starts coming, you want to be ready. Today, we will go over five things you can do for Fall home prep to ensure that you and your home are ready for the Winter.

  1. Clean Your Exterior
  2. Inspect and Schedule Fall Home Prep
  3. Switching Out Seasonal Items
  4. Prepare Your Home For Guests
  5. Get Cozy

1. Clean Your Exterior

At the end of the Fall season, your home exterior needs some attention. Over the last few months, winds kick up lots of debris that make your home look dingy: dust, pollen, dirt, bugs, bird droppings, etc.

Plus, your lawn and gardens probably are not in top shape.

We recommend cleaning your home exterior twice a year. Usually, the end of spring and the end of Fall are best because you accumulate a lot of dirt through those seasons.

Here is what we recommend cleaning:

  • Windows
  • Window screens
  • Siding
  • Fallen leave
  • Weeds in the garden
  • Dog droppings (before they get covered in snow and become a little “surprise” for spring!)
  • Gutters and downspouts
  • Chimney and Fireplaces

2. Inspect and Schedule Fall Home Prep

Do a visual inspection of the outside of your home. Is anything damaged, or is there anything you would like to improve? Schedule an estimate.

The home improvement industry is notorious for slowing down in the winter. By taking on fall home maintenance, you can take advantage of winter price cuts and get your project before prices inevitably rise in the new year.

Including:
